Vaccine Summit
The Wayne County Health Department -- in collaboration with Reid Health -- hosted a Vaccine Summit on Oct. 13, 2022, at Lingle Grand Hall & Auditorium on Reid's main campus in Richmond.
Speakers included:
- Former U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams, MD, on the history and importance of vaccination programs,
- Indiana Department of Health Commissioner Kristina Box, MD, FACOG, on current immunization rates in Wayne County and across Indiana, and
- IUPUI Professor Katharine Head, PhD, on how to address vaccine hesitancy and reluctance.
A panel discussion followed the speakers with audience members welcome to ask questions.
The summit was meant for medical professionals, school officials, and the general public, with continuing medical education (CME) credit available.
CME Learning Objectives: Understand the history of vaccine prevention programming, recognize the impact of vaccine programs in Indiana and Wayne County, and understand how to address vaccine hesitancy and reluctance
