Social Thinkers Group

In our Social Thinkers Groups, we foster team work and leadership above all else. Our facility allows the unique opportunity to match ages and interests with both a speech and occupational therapy perspective to best meet your child's social needs. Our groups tackle every day social situations in a safe environment where they are able to learn and explore. We incorporate movement with language building activities to target foundational social skills such as:

  • Flexible thinking
  • Appropriate turn-taking
  • Safety awareness
  • Maintaining eye contact
  • Perspective taking/understanding
  • Asking/answering questions
  • Attention to tasks
  • Emotional regulation
  • Problem solving
  • Reading context/hidden social clues
  • Independence in daily activities (e.g. cooking, hygiene, daily chores)

At this time, we have 4 Social Thinker Groups led by either a qualified speech or occupational therapist. If you feel as though a group setting would be a good match for your child, let your therapist know! We will work to try and find a good fit for their needs. Our groups are flexible depending upon the current patients.
