Student Physical
A physical examination must be completed prior to the beginning of classes. Enrollment will be contingent upon passing the examination, the sensitive drug screen, and a criminal background check. The hospital will provide the student candidate with health history and physical examination forms to be completed, but it is the candidate's responsibility to have them completed and signed by his or her family physician. The completed forms are then returned to Kendra Gilley in the Radiology Department.
Students also must remain current on all of the appropriate immunizations for health care workers. Incoming students must be able to document immunization or immunity to Rubeola, Rubella, Tetanus, Varicella Zoster, and Hepatitis B. In addition, all students must show evidence they have had a tuberculosis screening (PPD) within the past year.
COVID-19 vaccination is now required as well.
All incoming students will submit to a drug-screening test and criminal background check administered by the hospital. Both must be successfully completed prior to enrollment. Both tests are done at student expense. The cost for the drug screen is approximately $40. The cost for the criminal background check is $75.
