We will miss Dr. Allen!
Everything went great!
I was required to pay my entire bill up front - they would not submit to private insurance (although every other practice we have visited has- as is normal). $324 and they could not or would not provide me with a statement or bill for services. I will have to go to the business office at another facility to get something that shows what services were provided. That in my opinion is ridiculous...don't expect payment if you can't show/tell me what you are charging me for. If you won't submit a claim to private insurance you really should be prepared to provide a statement so I can submit it to my private insurance. I work in a professional services business and I know that we are too professional to expect payment without providing a bill or invoice.
When I was checked in they did not complete the process. When I asked how much longer I was told soon. When i questioned the nurse she stated i was a no show even though i arrived 15 minutes early for the appointment.
This is not related to our medical care during the visit~ but I think there should be designated walkways from the large parking lot from the South to the building. There is a stop sign~ but I feel like there's no clearly marked path to cross the main drive to the building. You have to walk diagonally from the lot entrance to the center entrance. It seems pedestrian unfriendly to me~ especially when you know there are always children crossing that drive. Just a thought.
I have 2 children that see Dr. Allen. I always schedule their well check appts SEVERAL months in advance. I'm a working mother and I have to make special plans to leave work and find a substitute teacher to cover my class when I make these appts. At least 5 times in the last 2 years~ your office has called me within the same week of my child's appt to reschedule their well check appt due to Dr. Allen being gone~ having a meeting or taking a vacation. That forces me to have to completely rearrange my schedule and plans. It's extrememy frustrating to say the least. As a matter of fact~ my daughter's well check appts are now done in January despite her birthday being in November because your office couldn't see her the week she was scheduled (around her birthday) and then couldn't reschedule her again until January. It's frustrating for this working mom and very inconsiderate of your patients' time. If I had other options for pediatric in Richmond~ I'd certainly be investigating them.
The wait time was ridiculous for a toddler to be kept in an exam room.
I was over charged for an unnecessary lab test.
Dr Allen can come across as judge mental and if you want patients to be honest it shouldn't be clear that you're looking for a particular response and that if a different response is given you'll be disapproving. Otherwise your patients will just tell you what you want to hear. On the other hand~ she's very patient and has a great rapport with kids and comes across as genuine and competent.
