Water damage forces temporary move of Urgent Care in Richmond
Dec. 30, 2022 -- Extreme cold
during last week's winter storm led to broken water lines at Reid Urgent Care
in Richmond, forcing a temporary closure of that facility and a move of those
services.
Beginning
Monday, Jan. 2, Urgent Care will operate from the building at 1200 Chester
Blvd. until further notice while repairs at the original site are being made.
Hours at the temporary location will remain 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
Anyone who
needs urgent care services before Monday can:
- Call their primary care provider to see if a same-day visit is available
- Go to the Reid Ready Care Clinic at Meijer in Richmond
- Go to Reid Urgent Care - Eaton, which is about 20 miles away
- Use a Reid HealthNOW virtual urgent care visit, which is available at the discounted price of $29 with the promo code RHN29 through the end of January.
While Urgent Care is operating from its temporary location,
those who have a bone, joint, or muscle injury should use the Reid Ortho
Walk-in NOW service at the Reid Health Comprehensive Bone & Joint Center,
1400 Highland Road in Richmond. Hours there are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through
Friday.
Surges in recent weeks have pushed Reid's Urgent Care sites
and Emergency Departments to their limits. It's critical those who are
experiencing only minor symptoms turn to their primary care provider first. If
you have more serious symptoms such as shortness of breath or trouble
breathing, it's appropriate to visit the Emergency Department.
Using your primary care provider when your symptoms are mild
can save you time. Most offices have same-day appointments available while
seeing a provider at one of Reid's Urgent Care sites or the Emergency
Departments could end up with you waiting to be seen because of a larger volume
of other patients.
If you don't have a primary care provider, Reid Health can
help you find one by calling (765) 935-8934.
