Reid Health recognized for excellence with ACC Cardiac Cath Lab Accreditation

May 4, 2023 -- Reid Health's Cardiac Cath Lab has earned
accreditation from the American College of Cardiology (ACC) after a rigorous onsite review of the staff's
ability to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients.
Hospitals
receiving Cardiac Cath Lab Accreditation from the ACC must take part in a multi-faceted
process that involves completing a gap analysis, examining variances of care,
developing an action plan, a rigorous onsite evaluation, and monitoring for
sustained success.
Facilities
that achieve accreditation meet or exceed a variety of criteria and have
organized a team of doctors, nurses, clinicians, and other administrative staff
that support the efforts leading to improved patient outcomes, according to the
ACC.
"Our Cardiac
Cath Lab team and other leaders across the organization have worked for a year
to apply for this accreditation," said Tyler Evans, Cardiovascular Service Line
Director for Reid Health. "This endorsement shows those we serve they can
expect to get top-notch cardiology care at Reid."
"This is truly an amazing accomplishment,"
said Misti Foust-Cofield, Vice President/Chief Nursing Officer for Reid Health.
"It was an honor when the surveyor reported she was incredibly challenged to
find minimal opportunities for improvement within our program. That's a
true testament to the great work and patient care that this team delivers."
"Accomplishments and recognition like
this only come from patient-by-patient diligence for great outcomes," said
Craig Kinyon, Reid Health President/CEO. "The team's outstanding patient care
and passion for excellence have made a significant difference as demonstrated
by this by this achievement."
