Reid Health named one of America’s Best for third straight year

Jan. 27, 2026 -- For the third year in a row, Reid Health is among the nation's top 5% of hospitals for overall clinical excellence.

It's just the latest honor Reid has earned from Healthgrades -- the No. 1 site Americans use when searching for a doctor or hospital -- for 2026.

Other recognitions include Specialty Excellence Awards for critical care, pulmonary care, and cardiac surgery, the third straight year Reid has been cited for its critical and pulmonary care services.

The honors put Reid among Indiana's best for those same services, ranking top three in the state for critical care and pulmonary care and top five for cardiology.

In addition, Reid was rated five stars for several other specialty care services, including treatment of:

• Stroke (eight years in a row)
• Sepsis (five years)
• Heart failure (four years)
• Pneumonia (four years)
• Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) (three years)
• Gastrointestinal bleed (three years)
• Heart attack (two years)
• Spinal fusion surgery
• Respiratory failure

Reid's achievement is based solely on what matters most: patient outcomes. To determine America's 250 Best Hospitals for 2026, Healthgrades evaluated risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates for more than 30 of the most common conditions and procedures at about 4,500 hospitals nationwide.

Healthgrades' analysis found outcomes vary widely between the nation's highest- and lowest-performing facilities -- and the gap is getting bigger. In fact, if all hospitals -- as a group -- performed similarly to America's 250 Best, on average, 211,370 lives could have been saved during the 2022-2024 study period.

These findings illustrate the importance of choosing a facility with an established record of superior clinical outcomes.
