Co-worker about July Ambassador: ‘If we could clone her, we would’

Arica White, Practice Manager for Reid Urgent Care
July 15, 2022 -- A woman recently arrived at Reid Urgent Care with abdominal pain, unaware she was 39 weeks pregnant. By that night, the woman had delivered a healthy baby at the hospital, but the sudden mother had none of the things she needed to care for her new child.
Within days, the Urgent Care team had gathered a carload of gifts, including car seats, diapers, clothing, and more. Organizing the effort was Arica White, Practice Manager for Reid Urgent Care and Reid Health's July Ambassador.
White's
co-workers say the story is just one example of how she never hesitates to help
someone in need.
"Arica is a
true servant to those fortunate enough to encounter her. She is always looking
for ways to serve patients, our team at Urgent Care, and those in our
community," one co-worker said. "Arica is an example of doing the right thing
simply because it's the right thing to do. If we could clone her, we would!"
According to
White, those values were instilled in her from a young age.
"Since I was a child, I've been told everyone has a purpose
in life. We're all put here for a reason," she said. "I truly believe my
purpose and my 'why' for my life and career is to care for others. I get the
most joy in my life from what I do for others."
That shows in
the little things White does for her staff, planning everything from birthday
celebrations to baby showers. She's always thinking of ways to bring her team
closer together and make life at work more enjoyable.
"She brings so
much joy and happiness to our team day in and day out and is always someone we
can rely on regardless of the time or day," a co-worker said. "She's one of the
hardest workers I know, and I admire her for that."
"Arica does all
those little things that a lot of times go unnoticed. I just think she really
embodies all of Reid's values," another said.
"Since I was a child, I've been told everyone has a purpose in life. We're all put here for a reason. I truly believe my purpose and my 'why' for my life and career is to care for others. I get the most joy in my life from what I do for others." -- Arica White
White has been with Reid Health since 2018, serving in her current role for the past year. She lives in Richmond with her husband, Donnie, and their three children, Tony 8; Donnica, 4; and Addison, 7 months.
"Reid's culture is amazing. I've always made it a priority to
take care of patients the best I can, and Reid's expectations of patient care
align with how I feel everyone should be cared for and treated. That's the main
reason why I love working here," White said.
"Whether it's just saying hello to someone in passing, being able to console someone who isn't feeling well, or helping them through the most unexpected things in their life, that's what I enjoy most about going to work every day."
