About the Program

Reid Health is a state-certified emergency medical services training institution and is offering classes for those who would like to become a certified emergency medical responder (EMR) or emergency medical technician (EMT). Classes are held either on the main Reid Health campus in Richmond or at Reid's Connersville campus.

EMT Training Course What you can expect

Emergency Medical Technician training is divided into 5 modules including Operations, Airway Maintenance & Patient Assessment, Medical Emergencies, Trauma, and Special Patient Populations. Students will obtain CPR certification and become proficient in a wide array of skills including airway management and ventilation, pharmacology and medication administration, bleeding control and splinting, and emergency childbirth.

This college-level course is academically rigorous and requires a high degree of dedication. A variety of content delivery methods are utilized including classroom lecture, online components, and independent self study. Successful completion of the course enables students to obtain National Registry EMT certification, as well as Indiana EMT certification.
