At Reid Health, we believe in giving back to the communities we serve. Reid Health provides athletic trainers to the following schools for free. Athletic trainers are normally present at most practices and sporting events. They can respond to an injury within seconds, determine the immediate needs of the athlete, and either begin treatment or initiate emergency management within the first few minutes.
Certified Athletic Trainers (ATCs) are highly qualified, multi-skilled health care professionals who render service or treatment, under the direction of or in collaboration with a physician, in accordance with their education, training and the state's statutes, rules, and regulations. ATCs improve functional outcomes and specialize in patient education to prevent injury and re-injury. ATCs are able to reduce injury and shorten rehabilitation time for their athletes, which translate to lower absenteeism from school, practice/games, and work.
