The Auxiliary raises funds for the Foundation year-round with various special sales and also from proceeds in the Ginkgo Boutique, the hospital gift shop. The funds are used to support patient care at Reid Health, including funding technology and many other programs supported by the Foundation. Past donations have funded, for example, technology for patient care, the green roof that was installed over a portion of the main campus, the grand piano in the atrium and campus artwork.

“Our Auxiliary is a huge asset for our health system and more importantly, our patients,” said Randy Kirk, Reid Health Vice President/Foundation President. “And the dollars provided through this annual donation do not include the immeasurable value of thousands of volunteer hours also given by our volunteers.”

New officers for 2018, besides Garman, include John Herig, president-elect; Penny Frank, treasurer; Elsie Bragg, assistant treasurer; Max Bennett, recording secretary; Sheri Barfield, assistant recording secretary; and Patsy Goble, corresponding secretary.

Auxiliary volunteers have been in service at Reid since 1948, and donate time to departments across the health system. Approximately 300 volunteers are active in various departments.
