Reid Health receives ‘Vision’ award for donor program
VisionFirst has again recognized the Reid Health team with its "Vision" award for "exemplary leadership and commitment to its donor program and the community they serve," said Alex Van Zant, Director of Professional Services with VisionFirst.
Van Zant presented representatives of the Reid Health team with the award this week. VisionFirst, which was founded by the Lions of Indiana.
"The goal of our donor program is to ensure every individual and family is presented with the opportunity to be a donor," Van Zant said. "The caring professionals at Reid Health have established a program that ensures this while maintaining the dignity of donors and their families."
Reid Health cornea donations made a difference in the lives of more than 110 people in 2018, he said, and approximately 450 in the past five years.
"This is due to Reid Health's efforts and the generosity of the community of Richmond. These are our family members, friends and neighbors who now have their vision restored thanks to the kindness and dedication shown at Reid Health."
